Based on the stunningly influential “Moneyball: The Art of Winning an Unfair Game,” “Moneyball” is the story of Oakland A’s general manager Billy Beane’s (portrayed by Brad Pitt) successful attempt to put together a baseball club on a budget by employing a computer-generated analysis to draft his players. I’m no sports fan, but considering the book was written by the same author who penned “The Blind Side” and the screenplay was written in part by Aaron Sorkin, I think we’re in for a treat.
