PS4’s ‘Resogun’ addictive chaotic shoot ’em up

Prepare yourself: You’re about to be awash in color so bright, so chaotic, so destructive, you may think you’re in an interactive Picasso. Trust me, it only gets better

“Resogun,” a PS4-exclusive shoot ’em up developed by Housemarque (“Super Stardust HD”), is a visually pleasing bonanza of explosions and psychedelic lighting effects. Colorful throughout its entirety, you’re in control of a ship capable of extreme aggression. Which is a good thing, because you have to take our the hundreds of enemies spawning throughout the five playable levels. At your disposal: regular laser guns, powerful boosting, game-changing overdrives and field-clearing bombs. Quite the armory, right?

You’ll notice you can’t shoot up or down — just straight in front of you. The message here is that where you are in relationship to the rest of the map is important. Movement is just as vital as being able to take down the enemies.
