‘3 Days to Kill’ (2014) review: Doing it the hard way

Costner still rocks, even ifthis movie misses the mark

McG: WTF? I know you’re scattershot, and I can appreciate that. But this is getting ridiculous. It’s probably safe to say “3 Days to Kill” just isn’t your best work. But hey, at least it was in Paris, right?

In “3 Days to Kill,” directed by McG (also known as Joseph McGinty Nichol), stars Kevin Costner as Ethan Renner, a less-than-enthusiastic CIA assassin who has a great deal of his life hunting the bad guys with some seriously corny names like The Albino and The Wolf. Awesome, right? Well, not so much…

Right off the bat, Renner fells half a dozen people AND gets diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. There’s a sense of vindication against a man who ended the lives of so many, but that’s a moral for a story that cares.
