EDGE OF TOMORROW (PG-13): Tom Cruise stars in this sci-fi thriller as a soldier fighting an alien invasion who falls into an infinite time loop and gets killed over and over again. Think “Groundhog Day,” except not funny.

THE FAULT IN OUR STARS (PG-13): Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort are two witty, unconventional teenagers who fall in love at a cancer survivors’ support group in this adaptation of John Green’s novel. There will be tears.

NIGHT MOVES (R): Jesse Eisenberg, Peter Sarsgaard and Dakota Fanning are three radical environmentalists who engage in a dangerous protest in the latest from director Kelly Reichardt (“Wendy and Lucy,” “Meek’s Cutoff”).
