‘Habitat’ gets Feature updates, announces Steam Workshop support

Indie developer 4gency announced several new updates to ‘Habitat: A Thousand Generations In Orbit.’ The v0.20 update with a new “HAL” Management System, Combinations and Advanced Construction Mode is now live and available through Steam’s Early Access program. 4gency also announced it will be supporting Steam Workshop, which means that players will be able to build their own custom ‘junk’ for use in-game in the future.

Indie publisher Tiny Rebel Games announces expansion to ‘Doctor Who: Legacy’

Tiny Rebel Games and Seed Studio announced their live plans for the coming season of “Doctor Who.” Also, version 2.3 of the game, entitled The Hunt For Greyhound One, is now live on all platforms.

When the new season of “Doctor Who” premieres this weekend, fans will find new content released each week which will incorporate new enemies, allies, costumes and set backgrounds.

The release of “Doctor Who: Legacy 2.3: The Hunt For Greyhound One” finds the incarnations of the Doctor banding together in their efforts to fight the Master.

The Hunt For Greyhound One is now available globally as an update to the game on all supported platforms including Amazon Appstore, Google Play, iTunes and on Facebook.


Swordtales releases trailer for ‘Toren’

Indie developer Swordtales has released a new trailer for Toren, the coming dark fantasy adventure game that brings poetry to life in an epic journey about growth, discovery and overcoming great hurdles. “Toren” is scheduled to release on PC, Mac and PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system in early 2015.

“Toren” is an adventure game with beautiful graphics, innovative puzzles and immersive gameplay, which leads the player through an introspective and captivating journey to explore deep concepts and existential questions. In the game, players will witness the birth and the growth of a lonely girl named Moonchild, guiding her on a dangerous journey of discovery and transformation as she unlocks the mysteries of the tower, known as Toren.

‘The Golf Club now live on Xbox One and Steam

Canadian video game developer HB Studios announced that its golf simulation, “The Golf Club,” is now live on Xbox One through Xbox Live and on PC through Steam.

Priced at $34.99, “The Golf Club” is now available on Microsoft Xbox One, PC Windows and coming soon on Sony PlayStation 4.


IndieCade reveals first group of speakers for IndieCade 2014

IndieCade has revealed an initial, partial lineup of conference speakers for this year’s IndieCade Festival, which will return to downtown Culver City, Calif., October 9-12. Additional speakers and topics will be announced soon, as will the final selections of games to be showcased at the festival.

IndieCade also announces the first participants for the IndieCade Festival Keynote Discussion. They will be David O’Reilly, creator of the independent game, Mountain, and director of the video game sequences included the 2013 hit film by Spike Jonze, Her, and Pendleton Ward, creator of the hit animation series Adventure Time. More keynote participants will be revealed soon.

In addition, tickets for the festival are now available on the IndieCade website at The All Access pass grants admission to the Awards, the GameSlam, the Beer Garden Party, the Keynote Discussion, and much more.


‘Age of Wonders III: Golden Realms’ expansion announced

Triumph Studios, the creators of the Overlord and Age of Wonders series, reveal “Age of Wonders III: Golden Realms,” the first premium expansion pack for Age of Wonders III.

“Golden Realms” expands “Age of Wonders III’s” empire building mechanics. These new features are used in random maps, new scenarios and a new story campaign, where Halfling survivors settle in a distant land filled with danger and treasures never seen before. The expansion is set for a Sept. 18, 2014, release.


“The Witcher Battle Arena” closed beta signups, gameplay trailer revealed

CD PROJEKT RED, creators of the critically acclaimed Witcher franchise of games, and Fuero Games announced the launch of registration for “The Witcher Battle Arena” closed beta for Android devices.

“The Witcher Battle Arena” is a MOBA game based in the Witcher universe. Designed with fairness in mind, the game features no pay-to-win elements and allows players to unlock every piece of in-game content via gameplay.
