Opening Friday:
“Jem and the Holograms” (PG): Aubrey Peeples, Stefanie Scott, Aurora Perrineau and Hayley Kiyoko star in this live-action adaptation of the TV cartoon series about the rise and rise of four sisters who form a girl band.
“Rock the Kasbah” (R): A washed-up rock ’n’ roll manager (Bill Murray) takes on a new client: a teenage girl competing in the popular TV show “Afghan Star,” Afghanistan’s version of “American Idol.”
“Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension” (R): AKA The Horror Film Franchise That Wouldn’t Go Away.
“The Last Witch Hunter” (PG-13): Vin Diesel stars as mankind’s last defense against a tribe of evil witches. No, seriously.


HOME VIDEO
“Jurassic World” (DVD/Blu-ray): The box office smash arrives to gobble up more of your dollars.
“Back to the Future Trilogy” (Blu-ray): A re-release of the three films with new extras, in celebration of the original’s 30th anniversary.
“Nurse Jackie” Season Seven (DVD/Blu-ray): The final – and great – season of the Showtime cult hit, starring Edie Falco as a nurse struggling with addiction, brings the series to a stunning conclusion.
“The Wolfpack” (DVD/Blu-ray): One of the year’s most intriguing documentaries, about a group of brothers who have rarely stepped out of their small New York City apartment and are obsessed with movies.
“Testament of Youth” (DVD/Blu-ray): Alicia Vikander and Kit Harington star in this tragic romance set during World War I.
