What’s opening in theaters this week

Opening Friday:
“Krampus” (PG-13): Adam Scott and Toni Collette are the parents of a little boy who accidentally summons a Christmas demon to their home. Because even the holidays can use a little horror.
“Chi-Raq” (R): Director Spike Lee transplants Aristophanes’ ancient Greek play Lysistrata to present-day, gang-ridden Chicago.
“Capture the Flag”: A surfer clashes with a greedy billionaire in this animated, ecologically-minded adventure.


HOME VIDEO
In stores Tuesday:
“Amy” (DVD/Blu-ray): The critically acclaimed documentary about the life and career of the late Amy Winehouse is certain to be an Oscar contender next year.
“Mistress America” (DVD/Blu-ray): Greta Gerwig stars for director Noah Baumbach in this comedy about a college freshman whose life is upended by her impetuous stepsister.
“Mississippi Grind” (DVD/Blu-ray): Ben Mendelsohn and Ryan Reynolds co-star as down-on-their-luck gamblers who head out on a road trip along the poker-playing circuit.
“Queen of Blood” (Blu-ray): The 1961 cult classic, starring John Saxon, Basil Rathbone and Dennis Hopper as astronauts who encounter a space vampire, makes its hi-def debut.
