What’s opening in theaters this week

Opening Friday:
“Dirty Grandpa” (R): Zac Efron is the uptight aspiring lawyer forced to take his unruly grandfather (Robert De Niro) on a road trip to Daytona Beach for spring break.
“45 Years” (R): A married couple (Tom Courtenay and the Oscar-nominated Charlotte Rampling) receive devastating news while preparing to celebrate their 45th wedding anniversary.
“The Lady in the Van” (PG-13): Maggie Smith stars as a transient woman living inside her car.
“The 5th Wave” (PG-13): Chloe Grace Moretz is a young woman trying to protect her little brother from a wave of attacks on our planet by hostile extra-terrestrials.

In stores Tuesday:
“Everest” (DVD/Blu-ray): Josh Brolin, Jake Gyllenhaal and Jason Clarke are among the group of mountain climbers attempting to reach the peak of Mount Everest who are caught off-guard by a deadly snow storm.
“Straight Outta Compton” (DVD/Blu-ray): The Oscar-nominated drama about the birth of the hip-hop group NWA arrives in two versions: The theatrical cut and a longer director’s cut feature 20 extra minutes.
“The Intern” (DVD/Blu-ray): Anne Hathaway is the fashion-magazine editor who learns a few things from her septuagenarian intern (Robert De Niro).
“Inside Llewyn Davis” (DVD/Blu-ray): Joel and Ethan Coen’s dark comedy about a struggling folk musician (Oscar Isaac) gets the Criterion Collection deluxe treatment.
